Years ago, while I was a student on a course that trains you in the more advanced techniques of Dianetics, a 16-year old girl suffered a traumatic loss.

This girl was very close to her mother, but her mother had health problems. On this particular evening, the girl was sharing an interesting item from a book with her mother. The mother went to look up a word in a dictionary and suddenly suffered a massive stroke. She died right there before the girl’s eyes. Help came quickly, but there was nothing that could be done.

Needless to say, the girl was devastated. When I saw her afterwards, she looked half-dead herself. Her complexion was ashen and she kind of shuffled instead of walking.

I gave her a 2-hour counseling session using the techniques of Dianetics. At the end of the session, she was okay. Her gait returned to normal and her complexion was clear. Pretty impressive results, but there was still more to do.

The next day I gave her another session. It only took half an hour to finish things up, and by the end of this session, she was actually happy! Her cheeks had a rosy appearance and she was smiling readily. I had helped her to totally recover from a traumatic incident in 2-1/2 hours of Dianetics counseling! And I was just a student at the time! Needless to say, I was impressed by those results.

In late March 2006, my cousin, aged 42, died of undiagnosed cancer… leaving behind a very distraught and grieving wife with two young children.

My cousin’s wife was so distraught that she was inconsolable and she was talking as though my cousin was still alive and in the hospital. This went on for almost a week… and seeing that she wasn’t getting better, my father asked me for help.

I recommended that my father learn how to do Dianetics auditing. My father took a bus that very night traveled about 12 hours and stayed in Mysore for 2 days to learn dianetics auditing and some assist processes.

He came back home and gave my cousin’s wife a touch assist and in 20 minutes, she was cheerful and completely in the present moment. I happened to call home just around that time, and she was so profusely thankful to me for having show the way out.

The next two days, my father gave her two Dianetics sessions that handled her loss completely. She was totally back to battery, that she found a job (she had not worked since marriage) and is living a very productive and busy life with her children.

It is just amazing to see the life changing effects one book and one process on the life of a person, who was so totally lost to grief.

Thanks to the author for codifying such a simple yet powerful technique that beats any psychotherapy that is out there, and for making it broadly available to the lay person.

Thanks also goes to the publishers and the Dianetics centers around the world that keep this valuable knowledge alive and well.

When my father died I went into a state of sadness and everything felt lifeless to me.

I started to develop small tumors in my arm, like he had had. I couldn’t stop thinking about him, like maybe if I had done something differently maybe he would have not died, even though he was several states away and had been ill for some time.

Then I had a Dianetics session and found the link between this loss and many earlier losses, which all were piling up on me at once.

The grief passed through me, and I became myself once more, and stopped growing tumors!

I could think of my father with love, and with joy for having known him, and not with bitterness and regret. It was so much better.

I could enjoy the things in life that he had taught me without feeling grief every time I thought of him. What a relief!

I still find my success with Dianetics a source of smiles and wonder. That such technology exists and can be so powerful!

I had been exposed in 2001 to industrial solvents at my job that left me with severe steroid-dependant occupational asthma. It got bad enough that the pulmonologist I’d been seeing ordered me to quit that job. It took months in our small town for me to find another job that wouldn’t set the asthma off as badly.

The steroids caused other problems, and I was on blood pressure medications, gaining weight, having joint problems, and was continually trying to control the asthma with other medications and inhalers to try to cut down on the steroid use. In April of 2006, I requested a leave of absence from my job to get knee surgery done. This coincided with a major asthma flare that put me in the hospital. I was fired from my job.

Now broke, overwhelmed, sick and in pain, my attitude and ability to pull out of the situation crashed.

My husband Lloyd, while a Scientologist, hadn’t been active in Dianetics & Scientology while we were married. He decided that he’d been off-lines quite long enough! He got in touch with a Dianetics Practicioner by the name of Chuck Bell that lived only forty miles from our little farm. Chuck came over to the house a couple times, had Lloyd go with him to do Dianetics seminars, and Lloyd went down to Chuck’s home several times.

I was initially distrustful of Chuck’s obvious happiness and enthusiasm, and told Lloyd so. (And yes, thinking of what my tone level was then gives me a smile now!) Chuck carefully coached Lloyd until when Lloyd suggested that I get some auditing from Chuck, I readily agreed.

My first Dianetics session was on the 7th of July, 2006. By the end of it, I could hardly wait for the next one. By the third, my asthma was completely GONE! By the end of the intensive, I knew that I wanted to learn to audit.

I started really reading Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, did the on-line Extension Course, started on a new job, and started helping Chuck with his Dianetics study group. I REALLY started winning, and I started reading more and more L. Ron Hubbard. I started listening to the Congress Lectures, The Special Course on Human Evaluation Lectures, and getting lots more certainty that I HAD to learn to audit!

Chuck said that he was planning on going to Dallas for a celebration. I asked if I could ride along, and was wondering aloud how I could possibly get trained as an Auditor. A couple days later Chuck suggested that I join staff at the local Scientology Organization. My reaction was heartfelt and instant — OF COURSE!! HOW ELEGANTLY OBVIOUS!!! YES!!!!

I told Lloyd what I wanted to do, and having been staff at Narconon [a non-profit drug rehabiliation organization] in the past, he agreed.

When I got to the organization, it was already well-know that I was to join Staff. When I called Lloyd from the organization, he had two questions: “Do you have some reality on an Org now?” and “Have you joined?” I told him yes to both.

I arrived on staff the 7th of October, 2006 — exactly three months from my first Dianetics session.

My thanks and my love to my husband Lloyd, who recognized that only L. Ron Hubbard’s tech could save me.

My thanks and my friendship to my first auditor, Chuck, whose application of LRH tech pulled me out of that tailspin of succumb.

And always, always, to L. Ron Hubbard, my unbounded thanks and admiration for this incredible gift of freedom.

I had been looking for help for a very long time. For 10 years and at the age of 23, I could not stop taking drugs, although I tried psychoanalysis, eastern religion, trancendental meditation, astrology, the I Ching - you name it. Nothing worked.

Incidentally, my drug consumption during and after psychoanalysis worsened. When the therapist suggested that I get prescriptions for Valium from my doctor friends, (I worked at that time in a hospital) I knew I was wasting my time and money. I also knew that if I didn’t do something that worked soon, I’d be dead before I was 30.

That week a friend just so happened to come to my door who I hadn’t seen or spoken to in some years. She had been a former drug “buddy”. She took me to the beach, having me look at the environment, and kept me busy looking at things for the day, particularly each time when I reached into my bag for a drug (I always had something with me). She took me to her home and I met her family who I also had not seen in years.

They were all pleasantly “different” from when I last saw them, but couldn’t quite put my finger on how. She sat me down and gave me some instruction from the Dianetics Picture Book to show me how the mind worked. (I was understandably confused by the nonsense psychoanalysis said.) Then she showed me the Scientology Picture Book, which explained the relationship between the spirit to the mind. I had always known I was a spirit.

She then applied a very simple Scientology procedure to me, of course with my agreement and understanding. To my absolute pleasant shock, I realized that I had been taking drugs to get the same sensation that this Scientology procedure produced, which was a feeling of not being stuck in my head but having a feeling of space around me and calmness. I remember saying, “WOW! This is better than drugs!”

Two days later, I was able to restrain taking drugs, never again taking another drug. A purification program, along with further counseling addressing the subject of drugs, gave me the freedom from the desire to ever take another drug.

That was 27 1/2 years ago.

As a note, psychiatrists and psychoanalysts say that your I.Q. can’t go up. FALSE! Mine went up 10 points after 3 hours of Dianetics! And as a result, I was able to take on a job that I would never have had the confidence to even try to do and am successful and happier.
